I’m currently reading Brida by Paulo Coelho. It has something about soulmates. Brida met two of her soulmates, the Magus and Lorens. She was picking the Magus over Lorens but the Magus “let” her go.

“You will never be mine, and that is why I will never lose you. You were my hope during my days of loneliness, my anxiety during moments of doubt, my certainty during moments of faith.”

Those were words from the Magus to Brida.

I wanted for Brida to end up with the Magus. I mean, although Lorens is also her soulmate, it appears to me that the Magus is the “greater” soulmate. I think it’s sad that they found each other, they know that they’re soulmates but they didn’t end up together. But I guess the Magus is right in a way. He’ll never lose her because she’s not his to lose. He says she’ll always be the one he’ll love the most although he’ll love other women after that. And it’s kind of sad that he’ll be doing this from afar.
